The Revolt of the Germanies refers to associations or guilds of artisans in 16th century Kingdom of Valencia and Mallorca which revolted in 1521.
   In Catalan language, Germania refers to "brotherhood". The plural is Germanies.
   The first Revolta de les Germanies in Valencia, from 1519 to 1523, was an anti-monarchist, anti-feudal autonomist movement inspired by the Italian republics.
   The second Revolta de les Germanies in Valencia was prompted in 1693 by feudal taxation.
